Coming to the main story, we have Joy, a professional television anchor famous for his stunts-and-gags reality show and an otherwise easy going youth but when it came to the question of marriage, he always try to steer clear off the subject. This was more than a mere concern for his parents, Sushil and Madhavi who were frantically on search for a prospective daughter-in-law. Initially they thought that Joy would choose his bride from his innumerable lady friends and had eye on the jovial Sharanya, in particular, but they would soon learn that these were only friends to Joy and not anything more. So they started giving advertisements in matrimonial columns of leading dailies and each weekend saw them travelling throughout the city and outskirts interviewing prospective brides-to-be, but all to no avail. Particulary in one case, when one of the girls, Lajbanti, seemed just the right one for their son, a local thug entered the scene smashing up their car and their dream of even entertaining the idea of considering Lajbanti as their future daughter-in-law. In another case they proved to be an easy victim to a fraud who, in the guise of matrimonial services, looted them with Madhavi herself having a close shave of life.
